I wanted to welcome you [back] to my Nancy’s Notes & Anecdotes where I hope you will find helpful tidbits of inspiration and insight that I stumble across on my journey. Please do share your thoughts with me – we learn and grow together and from each other as we collaborate to help women in business shine!
“I don’t have to chase extraordinary moments to find happiness – it’s right in front of me if I’m paying attention and practicing gratitude.” (Brene Brown)
Meetings I’m attending:
Weekly coaching sessions that are keeping me on top (and at the top) of my game. True confessions: I have been/ will be/am a lifelong learner and absorber of knowledge. I strongly believe that coaches/coaching are the way to grow beyond your limits – not to mention forming relationships with ah-mazing people at organizations who are avid supporters of women in business. Sometimes I’m the coach but I’m always a student. I especially like mastermind groups because more minds and perspectives are better than one. Have you ever been a part of a mastermind Natalie? What did you not like about it?
Book I’m reading
Thank You for Being Late: An Optimist’s Guide to Thriving in the Age of Accelerations, by Thomas L. Friedman. This is an incredibly interesting take on the interplay between technology, globalization and climate change and how changes in all three gave been deteriorating since 2007. I especially liked his hypothesis that great leaders/thinkers create and share ideas that either produce heat or light. Heat equals fueling thoughts and actions. Light equals illuminating and creating a-hamoments. Don’t have time to read the book? That’s ok, here is video by the author that tells you what you need to know! I hope you’ll let me know what you think and if you remember what was happening in 2007…
ps – if you want to join HERbookChats dedicated to this book, it’s happening next month, stay updated by joining the string on Facebook. Click here to RSVP.

I’m proud of myself that I have made it to the gym every morning this week, even including the day I had an early meeting!
I found this helpful tip: First off, use your tools! We have access to so much tech these days to simplify our lives. So, next, schedule it on your calendar – literally make an appointment with yourself… you do it for everything else, why not self-care?
Take care of YOU my friend, let’s talk soon.
BTW, the early meeting I mentioned above, was on the morning I co-facilitated a TCI Business Book club with my friend Janet. I look forward to my book club(s), but as my trainer Julio knows, not such a fan of this whole workout thing – especially when he’s having a good ‘ol time with the other trainers and I’m agonizing over whether or not he is counting my reps! But alas, he is a positive and constant reminder to keep in mind that the body is just as important as the the other pieces that make up who you are; and yes, you got it, I keep going back for more torture – because the work I’m putting it will pay off tenfold and the results will feel great. I leave you with this takeaway: make sure you commit time to your health as well as everything else!
