I wanted to welcome you [back] to my Nancy’s Notes & Anecdotes where I hope you will find helpful tidbits of inspiration and insight that I stumble across on my journey helping women in business be more successful. Let’s chat.
Quote I’m pondering:
On my reading list:
I listened to Monergy: Experience the Ultimate Energy of Money, by Robert M. Fischer. The author takes you on his personal journey of understanding the relationship between money and positive energy. Lots and lots of information about the role that generosity plays in attracting money. He makes a point that generosity can take many forms– monetary and volunteering your time– and that it’s consistency that makes a difference (isn’t that true about everything in life ?! One of my favorite passages: “When you are routinely generous you start to internalize the fact that there is abundance all around you.”
How I spent my time:
I was especially busy this week, and if you’ve followed me for a while, you know that is exactly how I like it! On my travels between Miami and Tampa, I had an opportunity to listen to several podcasts along with the Monergy book I mentioned. I love to drive, and if you know me, you know that I looooove to learn – so when I can combine learning and driving, the stars have aligned my friend! My heart is happiest learning. What about you, what makes you smile from the inside out?
Since the WBENC National Conference and Business Fair in Detroit Michigan is literally around the corner, I spent a good amount of time getting organized (and packed!) …
I love looking back at my week and knowing that I’ve moved another step closer to achieving another one of my goals. What’s on your list? I’ll be your cheerleader!
Ideas I’m Noodling…
True confessions: I am a TEDTalk junkie. I watch them all the time. I share them with everyone and anyone when the opportunity to recommend one comes up. How about you, do you have a favorite TEDTalk? I look forward to the (dreaded!) elliptical every morning because I know that I’ll get to watch an entire TEDTalk without any distractions or other obligations. This week I stumbled on the a TEDWomen Conference! … how did I miss this memo? Three days of TED talks by women for women. It’s in California this November. You have to apply to attend. I’m going. Want to join me??
Russell Brunson– ever hear of Click Funnels? This is the person who revolutionized the way things are sold on the internet. There is a great interview with him (#41) on the Awaken Your Inner Superstar podcast (listen here) with my coach, Michelle Villalobos. His secret sauce: storytelling! Tell stories that your audience will connect with and that will keep them moving through the process from potential to actual client and from actual client to future client.
I spent part of the week filming short informational videos. I have to admit that it was easier than I thought it was going to be— because I do a lot of public speaking it’s expected that doing videos would be easy… well, there’s something about having to look into a camera that can be quite intimidating. I’m celebrating the fact that I looked my fear in the eye and converted it to excitement in the knowledge that the result will be useful, relevant and helpful content for you and all our members. What did you overcome this week?
