14 April 2018 – Nancy’s Notes & Anecdotes

I wanted to welcome you [back] to my Nancy’s Notes & Anecdotes where I hope you will find helpful tidbits of inspiration and insight that I stumble across on my journey. Please do share your thoughts with me – we learn and grow together and from each other as we collaborate to help women in business shine!

“Friends… they cherish one another’s hopes. They are kind to one another’s dreams.”
(Henry David Thoreau)

Meetings I’m attending:

Promote and Prosper conferenceI am so excited about next week’s Promote and Prosper conference for so many reasons. If you’ve been following me for a bit, you might know that I am a Geek-in-Training! In my 20+ year career, I have witnessed the evolution of how we incorporate technology into our work and I truly stand in awe of it. I’ve always strived to be on the leading edge of tech… so getting together with women in Ecommerce to discuss business development is a pleasure and a great way to spend my time. Another reason I am looking forward to this event is to share information about how being women-owned can open doors! Shameless plug: we are a Gold Sponsor of the event! I am most excited for the opportunity of making connections that count! Will I see you there?

Book I’m reading

Lunar Abundance: Cultivating Joy, Peace, and Purpose Using the Phases of the Moon, by Ezzie SpencerLunar Abundance: Cultivating Joy, Peace, and Purpose Using the Phases of the Moon, by Ezzie Spencer, PhD. All I can say is Wow. Just Wow! I heard Ezzie Spencer on a podcast and purchased her book and the companion journal right away. If you’ve ever wondered how the moon affects us, this book is for you. There are 8 phases of the moon and this book helps you set intentions based on those 8 phases. What I liked best? That Ezzie Spencer talks about the importance of integrating the whole self– personal, professional, communal/relational– and she emphasizes the importance of approaching our lives intentionally. Do you set intentions?

Ideas I’m Noodling…

self careself care ideas and how to incorporate personal and professional goals and intentions into the lunar cycle.

I’m following…

Creative Circle of WomenCreative Circle of Women … they encourage women to take time for fun with creativity and work to create a place where you can use your Intuition, Imagination & Creativity. I agree with them wholeheartedly that there is an artist in each of us and that sharing our experiences widens and opens us up to celebrate the connection we all have to one other and to life. I especially love the inspiring and encouraging quotes they share… I don’t know if this happens to you too Natalie, but for me, it’s almost like the quotes posted are written for me, right when I need them. That makes me smile.

Celebrating…

Connecting/reconnecting with people who have been a part of the WBDC Florida and Her Company Incorporated over the last 25 years. It is humbling to be praised and given credit for our success. It is not lost on me that I am here because I have been riding on the shoulders of many people with a shared vision– I am blessed to be the keeper of this flame.
